It’s Gio, hence the playful site name. I’m an MD by profession and lecturer at the two main Universities in Zurich, Switzerland. Apart of other hobbies, I enjoy exploring the surroundings of the lake of Zurich and beyond by bike.

Bitten by the bug of cycling when I was about 15, over the years I have enjoyed riding all possible two-wheeled-non-motorized vehicles, From DH to Dual, to Road, XC, Single Speed, non-suspended, front -and full suspended versions.

Mostly sitting on my red anodised 1996 GT Zaskar Single Speed for commuting, I recently rediscovered XC biking, as after 20 years, I finally managed to build my dream bike, a Merlin Fat Ti XL. And that’s what mostly this site is about…..
